Construction and execution

A VLU is primarily used as a protective device to safely discharge any overvoltages in the DC link of the traction converter and thus protect it from voltage peaks.

Furthermore, a VLU is also used for targeted discharging of the DC link, e. g. when setting up and dismantling the vehicle.
